Marie C. (Hess) Harris

Marie C. Harris, 96, of Reading, passed away on Friday February 28, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was the widow of George L. Harris who passed away on August 16, 1956.

Born July 19, 1917 in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Warren Hess and the late Mary E. (Kremlich) Shirey.

Marie worked for Billy’s Pretzels until they closed and then Bachman foods, of Reading, until her retirement in 1980.

She was an avid reader, and was a loving mother, nana, and great nana. Her family meant everything her.

Marie is survived by her children, Jeanette, widow of Nevin G. Graham Sr.; Richard, husband of Alison Harris; and Debra, Wife of Roy W. Gilbert; grandchildren, Kim Poet (Duke), Jennifer Hoffa, Mandy DuBois (Bryan), Natalie Zamudio (Artemio), Amy Donne (Matt), Samantha Gilbert, and Megan Renninger (Jesse).

There are also several great grandchildren, Cameron, Jordan, Aaron, Lynnie, Brittany, Arianna, Jeffrey, Tony, Nicky, Maggie, Emily, Nathan, Alexis, Kayhleb, Savanah, and Sophia.

Her son, Donald L. Harris, preceded her in death.
