Harold L. Riegel, 86, of Reading passed away on Thursday April 17, 2014 at his residence.
He was the husband of Dolores M. (Parzanese) Riegel, his wife of 65 years.
Born in Laureldale, he was the son of the late Elwood D. and Goldie (Cleavinger) Riegel.
Harold served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
He was a member of St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
Harold worked as a deliveryman for 27 years for the former CD Schneck Inc., and also worked for Bernville Fuels. He was last employed as a crossing guard at Riverside school.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Diane, wife of Antonio DeJesus; grandsons, Brian, husband of Lynn DeJesus and Anthony “LT” DeJesus; great grandsons, Brock and Brody DeJesus; and sister, Joan DeMarte.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 22, 2014 at 10 a. m. in St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, 925 Centre Ave. Reading, Pa 19601. Interment and Military Honors will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. A viewing will be held on Monday evening April 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday Morning From 8:30 a. m. to 9:30 a. m. in Henninger Funeral Home Inc., 229 N. 5th St Reading.
