Jerome Toney, 87, Wyomissing, passed away peacefully on Thursday June 5. He was the husband of Patricia (McGrady) Toney. He was the son of the late Harry and Rose (Berman) Toney.
Jerry grew up in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Baltimore City College and served in the Army during WWII. He worked as a Business Manager/Consultant in the retail furniture industry for RFL Incorporated for over 50 years.
Jerry was an avid tennis player and belonged to the Berks County Tennis Club as well as the Island Walk Tennis Club, FL. Jerry adored his grandchildren. Spending time at his home in Naples FL was of great joy for him.
He was a lifetime member of the Jewish Educational Association and belonged to Kesher Zion Synagouge.
He was predeceased by his brother Melvin Toney and sister Leah (Toney) Solomon.
In addition to his wife, He is survived by his daugher Harriet wife of Richard Dormer, stepchildren Lynn, Glenn and Thomas Comoh,grandchildren Kristine and Kimberly Dormer, Kendyl and Dawson Comoh.
Funeral services will be held on Monday June 9, 2014 at 1pm in Henninger Funeral Home Inc., 229 N. 5th St., Reading, PA 19601. Burial and graveside service will be held on Tuesday June 10 at 1pm in Arlington Cemetery of Chizuk Amuno , 4300 N. Rogers Ave., Baltimore, MD 21215.
