Obituary for Anthony Scott Rivera

Anthony Scott Rivera, 46, of Reading passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 in Reading.

Born in Reading, he was the loving son of the Sarah (Rivera) and Reyes Rivera.

He worked in quality control for Can Corporation of America, Blandon last working on May 31, 2014.

Tony was involved with the Puerto Rican Carnival committee as an art designer. He was involved with helping Latino kids continue their education.

He also helped raise money for the American Red Cross for hurricane victims in Latin America with WIOV 1240AM radio station “Impacto Latino” where he was the arts and promotion designer for the radio station. Tony worked with Hector Dorta Jr. on seven other fundraisers that helped many Latinos in the Reading area.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughters, Xiomara D., Idaliz, Tyanne Lee, and Zulayka J. Rivera; grandchildren, Xionelys and Gabriel Rivera; stepson, Zackary Singlar; stepdaughters, Ashly and Jessica Singlar; Sisters, Delilah, Norma, Reyna, and Barbara Rivera, Jessenia and Janitta Alvarez.

His sister, Sarita Rivera, preceded him in death.

Tony will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June16, 2014 at 9:30 a. m. in St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 322 S. 5th St. Reading, Pa 19602. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening June 15 from 6 p. m. to 8 p. m. and Monday morning from 8 a. m. to 9 a. m. in Henninger Funeral Home Inc., 229 N. 5th St. Reading, Pa 19601.
