Rev. Gunther J. Stippich, 100, of Wernersville, passed December 1, 2014 in Phoebe Berks Health Center.
He was the husband of Jane (Weitzel) Dickinson Stippich. He was also pre-deceased by first wife, Elsie M. (Bothe) Stippich in 1975 and his second wife, Millicent (Lengel) Stippich in 1993.
Born in Hartford, CT, he was the son of Herman and Maria (Paulsen) Stippich.
Rev. Stippich was ordained at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Albany, New York in 1939 and went on to serve at several Lutheran churches in New York, Philadelphia, and Reading. He served locally at St. John’s (German) Lutheran Church, Reading and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Lobachsville until his retirement. He also taught German at Alvernia University.
He is also survived by a nephew, Rev. Edward Cloughan and two stepsons, Stephen Hartranft and John E. Dickinson.
A graveside service will be held Monday December 8th at 1:00 P.M. in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
