Daniel J. Vitalo, 85, of Reading, passed March 31, 2015 in Berks Heim.
He was the husband of his loving wife, Diane E. (Housner) Vitalo.
Born in Reading, PA he was the son of the late Vito and Eleanor (Leardi) Vitalo.
Daniel worked for Reading Company later becoming Conrail as a Supervisor of Operating Rules. He later worked as a bus driver and an usher for the Sovereign Center.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army.
He served as the Vice President of the former Son’s of Italy.
Danny loved his work on the railroad and going to the casino, but his greatest joy in life were his grandchildren.
He is also survived by a daughter, Wendy, wife of David Boyd of Shillington; son, Michael, husband of Jane Vitalo of Sinking Spring; stepsons, David, husband of Louise Ludwig of Mohnton and Barry Ludwig of Reading; grandchildren, Andrew and Zachary; step grandchildren, Nicholas, Daniel, Lauren, and Tara; step great grandchildren, Noah, Nate, Logan, and Vincent; brother, Jacob Vitalo and a sister, Phyllis DiFebo. He was pre-deceased by a stepdaughter, Judy Talarico and brothers, James, Joseph and John.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 12 Noon in Henninger Funeral Home, Inc. , 229 North 5th St., Reading.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 AM to the time of service.
Inurnment will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
