Obituary for Gertrud Katz (Ledermann)

Gertrud “Trudy” Katz, 98, of Wyomissing, passed June 15, 2015 in the Highland’s Health Center.

She was the widow of Fred Katz who passed in 1996.

Born in Nuremburg, Germany she was the daughter of Emil and Martha Ledermann.

Trudy immigrated to America, escaping Germany during the Holocaust.

She worked for many years as a dental technician and was an avid duplicate bridge player.

She was a member of Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom and was a member of Sisterhood.

She is survived by two nieces, Marion Loewenstein and Florence Burstein.

The family would like to thank the Highland’s staff and Mary Haas for the years of loving care they provided Trudy.

Funeral services will be held today at 1 PM in Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom, 555 Warwick Drive, Wyomissing. Interment will be in Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Shillington. Contributions may be made to the Jewish Federation of Reading.
