Toby E. Portner age 80 formerly of Reading passed away on Wednesday June 29, 2015 in Manor Care Health Service, Laureldale. She was the wife of the late Lee F. Portner who passed in 2001.
Born in Reading, PA on April 3, 1935, the daughter of the late Leon Wing and Mary (Chartier) Wing.
She was a graduate of Reading High School class of 1954. Toby was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Reading where she was a choir member and taught Sunday School.
She had worked for CNA Insurance in Reading and Delaware for many years. Last working for Elite Sports Wear, Reading for twelve years. Retiring in 2000.
Toby loved crafts, making flower arrangements and doing crossword puzzles. She especially loved caring for her four legged furry children.
She is survived by her children son Wayne L. Dauber husband of Barbara Dauber of Virginia Beach, VA and daughter, Tina E. (Dauber) Francisco of Dryfork, VA and four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister Helen G. (Wing) Kasper of Laureldale.
Services will be held Friday at 11 AM in Henninger Funeral Home, Inc., 229 N. 5th St., Reading. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private in Laureldale Cemetery.
