Beverly O. (Ostroff) Bloom, 81, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Berks Heim. Born in Philadelphia August 9, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Edith Ostroff. She was also pre-deceased by a brother, Bernard Ostroff.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Seymour Bloom. In addition to her husband she is also survived by two daughters; Shelley Hamsher wife of Jeffrey Hamsher, Wyomissing and Merryl Eisenberg, Sinking Spring. There are five grandchildren, Samantha and Courtney Hamsher, Baltimore, Maryland, Joshua Hamsher, Philadelphia, Brittany and Matthew Eisenberg, Sinking Spring.
She graduated from Trenton High School and received her degree in Education from the College of New Jersey She taught first grade in Trenton, New Jersey and in the Reading School District at the former 15th and Perkiomen Elementary School. She became a Weight Watcher leader in 1971, retiring in 2011.
Her wit and sense of humor gave her many loyal friends, hours of happiness and laughs, and a lifetime full of memories.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10AM in Kesher Zion Synagogue, 1245 Perkiomen Ave., Reading. Interment will be in Kesher Zion Cemetery. The family requests donations are made in memory of Beverly to Breast Cancer Support Services.
