Esther K. (McKently) Cleaver, 91, of Country Meadows, Wyomissing, passed December 31st.

She was the widow of Leon P. Cleaver who passed in 2005.

Born in Reading, PA she was the daughter of the late Claude I. and Martha A. (Weber) McKently.

Esther was a self employed hairdresser owning and operating Esther’s Beauty Shop from her home for many years.

She was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church, Reading.

She is survived by her daughters, Jeryl Dean (Ruff) Kellett of Shillington and Commander (Ret.) Cheryl L. Ruff, USN of Portsmouth, Virginia; two grandchildren, Christa Zuber-Lindner of Reading and Craig R. Zuber of Reading. There are also four great grandchildren. Esther was pre-deceased by two brothers, Gene and Wilbur McKently.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Country Meadows and to Bayada Home Health Care nurses for their compassionate caregiving to Esther.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
