Bernita M. Skipper, of Mohnton, passed February 28th in Mifflin Court, Shillington.

She was the widow of Edward R. Skipper.

Born in Reading, PA she was the daughter of the late Matthew Delp Sr. and Marianna (Pietrovito) Delp.

Bernita was the owner of Bernie’s Luncheonette from 1966 to 1986 and also owner of Skip’s Forest Inn, Reading for 26 years retiring in 2005.

She is survived by brothers, Matthew Delp Jr. husband of Joan Delp, John Delp husband of Jamie Delp, David Delp husband of Judy Delp, Benjamin Delp husband of Whitley Cooke; two granddaughters, Brittany L. Nye wife of Andrew Nye and Bridget Skipper; daughter in law Sheryl L. Shade wife of Dennis Shade; and one great grandchild on the way.

She was pre-deceased by son, Edward R. Skipper Jr., daughter, Suzanne Y. Skipper and sister, Yvonne Bailey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Reading on Thursday at 10 AM.

A viewing will be held at Henninger Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 8 AM to 9:30 prior to Mass.

Interment will follow Mass in Gethsemane Cemetery.
