The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Doris Allen can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Ali Bortz
Condolence: Reading the obituary I can see why Elmer spent his life with Doris. Elmer is the only one who I am acquainted with-although he spoke of his wife often. I met Elmer quite a few years ago at the old ARNERS on State Hill Rd. Took an instant liking to him, talked about gardening mostly. So Elmer my prayers are with you and your family. Thank God u both had so many wonderful years together.

Condolence From: Lou Henderson
Condolence: Doris and I grew up together from Kindergarten in Harrisonville to graduating in the Class of ’46 in Woodstown High School. She was an active, working member of the “Reunion Committee of the WHS Class of ’46 ”. Her creative ideas and contributions were freely offered. She particularly will be remembered by classmates for her house of work and her generous contributions to our 50th Reunion. Not only was she a masterful, colorful emcee, but she also wrote a poem and had a token gift for each member! Her sharp wit, sense of humor and her graciousness --always a pleasure!. She was loved, and will be missed.
Personally, after daily prayers for her, and after weeks and weeks of hearing her voice and attitude change -(for the worse)- I welcome her death, because I feel/know she now is at peace, pain free, and is being rewarded in heaven for all the good she has done and all the happiness she as given to so many!! I hope and pray that her loving family can share my feelings. God bless you: Elmer, “Dr.Rob” and Sara, and (to quote Doris) “my boys”.
