Obituary for Eneida A. Rivera (Pagan)

Eneida A. Rivera, 79, of Shillington, passed May 1st in Penn State Health St. Joseph’s.

She was the wife of Pedro Rivera to whom she had been married to for 60 years.

Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Gregorio Pagan and Abad Rivera.

She had worked as a seamstress for Berkshire Stocking, Wyomissing and also H. Oritsky Co., Reading.

She was a member of St. Margaret’s RCC, Reading.

Eneida was a nurturing person always making sure everyone was fed. She had a sense of humor and was a fighter of life. She loved to cook, sew and crochet, gardening and crafts. She also loved spending time with all of her family.

She is also survived by her children, George Rivera of Myerstown, Maria Rivera-Young wife of Ed Young of Sugar Hill, Georgia, Pedro Rivera husband of Brenda Rivera of Reading, PA , Lucy Rivera of Reading and Carmen Rivera of Reading. There are also 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, brother, Felix Pagan and sister, Luz Clara Pagan. She was pre-deceased by 9 brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 AM in St. Margaret’s RCC, Reading. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Viewings will be held in Henninger Funeral Home, Inc. 229 N. 5th St. Reading on Thursday evening from 7 PM to 9 PM and Friday morning 9 AM to 10 AM.
