Jean L. McFarland, 79, formerly of Reading, passed July 23rd surrounded by loved ones in St. Joseph Medical Center
Born in Wilson Borough, PA she was the daughter of the late Webster K. and Mary C. (Levengood) Reinert.
She worked as a nurse aid, first for the Topton Lutheran Home and most recently at Berks Heim, retiring in 2002. She was a long time member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church Reading, serving on various committees, including Church Council and also singing on the Church Choir. She was an avid animal lover especially of her cat.
She graduated from the Philadelphia School of Nursing in 1956.
She is survived by, son, David J. husband of Donna McFarland; brother, Robert husband of Pauline Reinert; sister in law, Bernadette Reinert; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Andrew, Matthew and Keli and 4 great grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by, daughter, Catherine M. McFarland and a brother, Frederick Reinert.
A memorial service will be held Friday July 29th in Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 421 Windsor St., Reading, at 10 AM.
Interment will follow in Friedens Cemetery, Oley.
