Joseph J. Witek, 94, of Temple, died peacefully on October 4th at the Mifflin Center in Shillington where he had been a short term resident. Joe was born in Glen Lyon, PA on March 19, 1922 and served for 5 years in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He lived for over 60 years in Temple, worked in quality control for many years at the Dana Corporation and loved tending to his flower gardens.
He was predeceased by his wife Elsie M. "Marie" (Emerick) Witek in 2011 and is survived by his brother Edward, Stow, Ohio, sister Romilda Plonsky of Buffalo, NY, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday October 7, 2016 at Henninger Funeral Home, 229 N 5th St, Reading PA. Friends and relatives are invited to call 10-11a.m. at the funeral home.
