John T. Garnett, 78, of Reading, passed November 1st in Penn State Health St. Joseph’s.

He was the husband of Barbara A. (Lucas) Garnett.

Born in Lincolnton, Georgia, he was the son of the late Will and Leola (Kennedy) Garnett.

John was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Army.

He is also survived by daughters, Cheryl Garnett, Cynthia Weaver wife of Hermond Weaver, Beverly Chisholm wife of Oliver Chisholm, Dorothy Moore wife of Torrey Moore and Rosetta Holmes wife of Willie Holt Jr., 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, brother, Nathan Hogan, sisters, Mary Glimpe, Dorothy Washington and Reaver Glaze, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 4 brothers, 4 sisters and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Friday November 11th at 11 AM in Henninger Funeral Home, Inc. 229 North 5thSt., Reading. Viewing will be from 9 AM to 11AM. Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
