Obituary for Shirley Hoffman

Shirley Minnich Hoffman, 87 died December 24, 2016 at her residence, Hearthstone Senior Living and Retirement, ( Maidencreek Place) in Reading, Pa.
She was the wife of the late John H. Hoffman Sr., 78.
Born in Reading on July 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Charles Leroy Minnich and Leona S. Delp.
Shirley was employed by Bell Telephone for 35 years, before retiring in 1986.
She served as a volunteer and officer in the Telephone Pioneers for more than 20 years and was a past Hall of Fame Winner in the Kinnard Chapter # 7 in 2005. She was also involved in organizing and volunteering for Special Olympics held at Fort Indiantown Gap for many years.
She was a member of the First Moravian Church, Reading, Pa.
She is survived by her two sons, John H. Hoffman Jr. (Susan) of Port Charlotte, FL., and Larry Lee Hoffman (Marian) of Shoemakersville; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Dubble of Bernville, Luke Hoffman of Wyomissing, and Dylan Hoffman of Chicago; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday January 21st at 11 AM in Salem United Methodist Church, Shoemakersville.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Special Olympics, 1133 19th Street NW, 12th Floor, Washington, DC 20036‐3604.
