Obituary for Mildred Lickstein

Mildred (Micki) Lickstein, 94, formerly of Reading and Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away on March 12th in her Burke, Virginia residence.

She was the widow of Max Lickstein, her husband of more than 60 years.

Born December 12 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Minnie (Shectel) Resnick. She was predeceased by brother Elmer and sisters Phyllis and Bette, her twin.

Micki was a member of Kesher Zion Synagogue, Reading, where she had volunteered as Gift Shop Chairman. She also served as President of B’nai B’rith. After moving to Burke, VA in 2010, she resided at Heatherwood Retirement Community, where she participated in a choral group and a movie-outing club.

She was a graduate of Reading High School and attended Philadelphia School of Art.

She is survived by sons, Leslie W. (Barbara) and Scott A. (Catherine) Lickstein; grandchildren David (Kristine), Steven (Connie), Michael, Eric (Lauren) and Jonathan (Johana) Lickstein, and Eve Korin; and great grandchildren Caiden Pastian, Joshua, Max, Samuel, Delilah, Clara and Jacob Lickstein.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 19th at Henninger Funeral Home, Reading at 12:30pm.

Interment will be in Kesher Zion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Micki’s memory to the American Heart Association.
