Carol M. Bricker, 78, Reading, died May 3, 2018 in her home.
Daughter of Pauline (Zielinski) and Chester Miraszewski, she was the wife of Gerald K. Bricker who died August 3, 2010. Survived by daughter Jenny Bricker Russian, Devon, PA; son Jeffrey K. Bricker, Hockessin, DE; and three grandchildren, Maggie Bricker, Max Bricker and Spencer Russian. Also survived by sisters Betty Randolph, Lancaster, PA and Marcia Smith, Leesport, PA. Preceded in death by sister Joanne Hunsberger.
Known to friends and family as “Cookie”, she was a life-long resident of Reading. She graduated from Reading High School in 1957, attended Albright College and was employed at Bell Telephone Co. from 1958 to 1962. She went back to college after her children were school-aged and graduated from Kutztown University in 1976 with a BA in Elementary Education. She taught in the Reading School District as a reading specialist until 1996. Cookie was an avid oil painter and animal lover, as well as a tireless advocate for Burzynski Clinic.
